The name of this winery is related to the former Old Weltevreden estate, to which it once belonged.

Le Bonheur counts 65 ha vineyards, that are planted on the slope of the Klapmuts in the district of Stellenbosch. What historically was an inn for travelers, is now a leading wine estate making complex quality wines of international varieties on four different soil types: granite, malm, sand and clay.
