Characteristics:
Complex and intriguing Cabernet Sauvignon from Franschhoek. Natural fermentation on large wooden tanks. The wine aged for 24 months in 80% new French oak and was bottled unfiltered. The wine presents a complex ever-yielding nose with hints of vanilla
with dark red berries and black currant, pencil shavings and cigar box, with great follow
through to the palate. There is an upfront, full and generous mouthfeel with an elegant, yet firm tannin structure, ending in a rich powerful and lingering finish. Cellaring potential of 10+ years.

Food pairing:
Serve with the best of red meat, beef, venison and lamb.

About this winery:
The history of the winery dates back to 1694 when Huguenot Jean Roi planted 4000 vines beneath the jagged peaks of the Groot Drakenstein Mountains. Current owner is international businessman and wine connoisseur Anthonij Rupert. The flagship portfolio carries his own name. Only the best grapes are selected and the cellar is state of the art.
