Allesverloren Estate Touriga Nacional 2009

Characteristics:
Dark ruby red. Ripe blackberries and red cherries. Subtle nuances of chocolate and oak in background. Full-bodied and spice undertones.

Food pairing:
Excellent enjoyed on its own or served with roasted meat dishes such as duck, lamb and beef.

About the winery:
Alexanderfontein is made on Ormonde, located in Darling, near the Atlantic Ocean. The grapes can ripen slowly because of the cooling effect of the Atlantic sea breezes. The strongest winds are stopped by a slight slope close to the sea and thus young plants and blossoms are protected. The vineyards are not irrigated, and the grapes are still picked by hand.
