Intense dark red colour. Bouquet of lovely red fruit and cherries, followed by sweet cedar oak aromas. The mouth gives initially an abundance of black fruit, followed by a big juicy soft middle with soft, well rounded tannins. Pleasant lingering aftertaste. Interesting Cape Blend: 41% Pinotage, 23% Merlot, 21% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Shiraz, 5% Cinsaut and 4% Pinot Noir. Matured for 12 to 14 months on French oak, combination of 5% new and 96% 2nd, 3rd and 4th fill.
Serve with stews, game dishes or lamb.
