Grapes from high altitude vineyards in Durbanville cooled by mist and the Southeaster. Lower temperatures cause slow ripening and intense flavour retention. The wine spent 10 months on French oak. Well-balanced with fresh notes of green pepper and asparagus, complementing tropical aromas of grapefruit and gooseberry. Rich texture, attractive minerality and well-rounded acidity.
Pair with sushi or seafood with south-east Asian flavours (lime and coriander). Or with pasta dishes, spring vegetables and buttery or creamy sauces. Favours grilled salmon, scallops and lightly smoked fish such as smoked eel and trout.
