Mulderbosch Faithful Hound 2019

Characteristics:
Berry fruit aromas of mulberries and blueberries, subtly framed by vanilla spice and earthy notes. Gentle structure and finesse combine to make the 2014 so attractive. It has good weight and richness, fine grained tannins and a savoury finish. Classy Bordeaux blend, matured for 18 months on 30% new French oak, the rest is 2nd and 3rd fill. Vegan friendly.

Food pairing:
For preparations with beef or lamb with rich sauces. Think of stew or venison. Great with chateaubriand and coq au vin.

About the winery:
Mulderbosch, situated in the Stellenbosch Hills and is widely accepted as being one of the best wine producers in the country. Adam Mason is cellarmaster and shows his talents in fine whites and elegant red, with enormous respect for terroir. Mulderbosch aspires to be part of the top producers of Chenin Blanc wines.

Dark and muscular, with layers of fig, blackberry and black currant paste offset by espresso, bittersweet cocoa and smoldering tobacco notes. Fleshy and dense on the finish, but well-defined, with a backdrop of singed cedar and bay leaf. Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Best from 2015 through 2020. Tasted twice, with consistent notes.
