Pure, dark blackcurrant and plum aromas combined with cedar wood and graphite nunaces. Abundant fresh bleuberry and boysenberry flavours with lavish, fine textured tannins and a lingering aftertaste. 17 months on French oak of 300L. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Ageing potential of at least 7 years from vintage.
Excellent with rich meat dishes, fried or smothered, with spicy sauces or as a meditation wine. The winemaker advises braised lamb shoulder with a fynbos jus.
