Schild Estate Barossa Valley GMS (Grenache, Mourvèdre, Shiraz) 2015


Characteristics: 
Blend of 43% Grenache, 30% Mourvèdre and 27% Shiraz and is a tribute to the great wines of the Southern Rhone, but with a very Barossean accent. Dark ruby colour. Appealing bouquet of red and darker berry fruit, linked to violet flowers and pepper spice. The palate has a fruity opening of the same berry fruit, with velvety notes followed by white pepper spice and super fine tannins. Long finish. Unwooded wine, drink now to 2024.

Food pairing: combines well with mediterranean cuisine and preparations with tomatoes, olives and anchovies. Think quality pizza, ratatouille or moussaka. Serve it as a companion to roasted chicken, tender lamb and sausages.
