CWG Beyerskloof Pinotage 2006

Characteristics:
Bush vines planted in the premium Pinotage region of Bottelarij, on pebble soil. A thorough grape selection results in 1 bunch per vine. The grapes were harvested at optimal ripeness and brought to the cellar. During fermentation the skins were pusked  hours into the juice every 2. After the malo, this CWG cuvée rested for 23 months on French oak of 225 liters. Deep dark red color. Rich bouquet of black currant, plum and hints of cedar wood. Complex Pinotage with elegant tannins. Top Pinotage that can rip for 10 to 15 years in a bottle.

Food pairing:
Baked or grilled red meats, ground game, full flavour sauces.

Beyers Truter Is also a member of the Cape Winemakers Guild, which annually offers an auction with exceptional cuvées, only available through this CWG auction in Stellenbosch. The proceeds from the auction are used to fund the education of talented but disadvantaged student winemakers.
