Bouchard Finlayson Galpin Peak Pinot Noir 2019

Characteristics:
Classy Burgundy style Pinot Noir. Firm and resonating with anticipation, its flavour profile is slowly unfolding where a little patience will offer a generous palate of fruits of the forest flavours and development of complex cherry and dark berry tones. Polished and lingering, it will benefit from ageing.10 months on French oak barrels (30% new) contributed to a delicious wine and will allow an extended maturation.

Food pairing:
Delicate and tender meats, cooked 'Rosé', like lamb, veal or goat, in natural and refined sauces. The winemaker loves it with seared salmon!

About the winery:
Peter Finlayson makes great wines in the cool region of Hermanus, near the Atlantic Ocean. In the beginning of his career, he stayed in the French Burgundy region, and became more and more passionate about Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. In Hermanus, in the beautiful Hemel-en-Aarde Valley he found the ideal location to build one of the most famous wine estates in South Africa in partnership with Paul Bouchard. Talented Chris Albrecht has been appointed as winemaker in the meantime.
