Always-impressive barrel selection, 25 casks out of 300, made to age decade-plus. Invariably shows rich, spicy dark fruit & hearty weight. 2019 pure & harmonious, structured by 18 months in new small-oak. Immortalises co-founder & cellarmaster Beyers Truter’s beloved dog.

Faith 2017: 5 stars

Outstanding Cape Blend of great authority & unvarying quality. 2017 from pinotage, merlot & cab (36/36/28), 23 months in new barrique is complex, fine-textured & -structured, with great presence, pure dark fruit & astonishing length. A benchmark that will age 11+ years.

Pinotage Reserve 2018: 4,5 stars

Textbook varietal fruit on 2018 - perfumed black & red berries leading to creamy, balanced & richly layered palate. 14 months in barriques, 10% new, provide structure for cellaring.

Synergy 2019: 4,5 stars

More plentiful (& well priced) pinotage (40%) blend with merlot, cab, shiraz, cinsaut & pinot. Generosity, complexity & plush, fragrant red & black berries, fine savoury tannins. Will develop well over 5 years or so. 12-14 months in barrels, 5% new.
