Characteristics:
Secondary fermentation in bottle, blend of 77% Chardonnay and 23% Pinot Noir. The wine is aged on its lees for 24 months. Vigorous fine bead with green apple, lemon, yeast and fresh sea breeze aromas. The palate echoes those aromatic notes and is brushed with grapefruit and citrus zest, followed with gentle, creamier biscuit and toast. Elegant and well structured with good fruit, acidity and lees harmony. The finish is long, dry and crisply detailed.
Food pairing:
Dry and seductive as an aperitif. Also delicious with seafood or oysters!
About the winery:
L'Ormarins dates back to 1694 when Huguenot Jean Roi planted 4000 vines beneath the jagged peaks of the Groot Drakenstein Mountains. Current owner is international businessman and wine connoisseur Anthonij Rupert. The flagship portfolio carries his name.
