Characteristics:
Dry and full bodied, well balanced made from indigenous varietals Ribolla, Malvasia and Friulano. Straw yellow of colour, with aromas and tastes of apricot, ripe apple, orange peel and light hints of vanilla.  25% of the wine aged in natural Slavonian oak tonneaux and 25% in medium toasted Slavonian barriques, 10 months sur lie. The wine gains character over time and can age well. Enjoy at 12°C and uncork just before serving.

Food pairing:
Excellent with roasted white meats and vegetables, egg based dishes and fresh cheeses.

About this winery:
Pighin family winery is situated in North Eastern Italy’s DOC region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia. Grapes are sourced from two different vineyards, in the renowned regions of Friuli Grave and Collio, which allows two different expressions of Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. The Collio property at Capriva, along the eastern border of Grave del Friuli and within sight of Slovenia, lies on some of the sunniest and most beautiful hillsides of the area, all with southern exposure. The yield is limited: only 5 or 6 tons of fruit per hectare. The Pighin family vineyards are maintained with organic farming methods on 185 ha.
