Characteristics
Fresh, fruity and dry white wine with aromas and flavours of white stone fruit, blossoms, green apple, a hint of citrus, and young apricot. Known since the 15th century and nearly extinct but recently revived — the Arneis grape is also called the white Barolo. Complexity, 5 months sur-lie, a fantastic aromatic cuvée.
Food paring
Versatile white wine, a brilliant wine pairing for anything fishy, herby or citrussy. Think of raw and marinated shellfish, grilled white fish, prawns or shrimps, also pasta dishes with seafood. Partners vegetables well, such as asparagus, fennel and artichokes.
About this winery
Piedmont is one of the most fascinating regions in the wine world today. Poderi Gianni Gagliardo is a family winery located in La Morra in Langhe, the heart of Piedmont, a region of rolling vineyards on hills that follow the curves of the Tanaro River south of Alba. La Morra is known as a top appellation for Barolo wines with a fine, floral wine style. Barbera gives juicy, lively reds to drink young and fresh and the indigenous grape, Nebbiolo, is widely praised for its fruit, aromas, and smoky subtlety.
